blame

So the Feds slow response was Bush's fault.

Feel better?

It's certainly refreshing to hear a public figure accept even partial responsibility for anything, I can't help feeling somewhat cynical. What's the angle? Why take responsibility for something that you had little to do with, when you insist on sticking by your Iraq idea.

Probably just a ploy to keep Iraq of the front page for another day. I fear there will never be enough other news to make that one go away.

You don't suppose that admission had anything to do with the fact that his approval rating is at 40 percent?

I think the guy, or more specifically his handlers, decided that fighting a two front war of botched disaster relief and the military qaugmire in Iraq was too much for the American people to handle so it was time to apologize for one of them.

How will we view this presidency in five years? I hate to admit it but I still think of Clinton as the president who couldn't keep his wang in his pants. But I can't think of any grand governmental disasters that happened on his watch. I think I'd rather be remembered as the wang president.
